I ride up Cork street the odd time to get downtown. It's a bit of work but once your legs get used to it it's not bad. You learn to ride a bit different with a single speed, manage your cadence better, use hills and momentum etc. You waste less 'natural energy' since you can't afford to lean on gears. Well ya.
