Would you really want to avoid hiring a genius just because they forgot the curly bracket or the name of a class in their code?  In the &quot;real world&quot; work environment all it takes is 1 minute with Google or an O&#039;Reilly book to figure out what those values should be.

What is more important is that they have the skills, knowledge and drive to be able to figure those things out.

I think your idea of sitting down with them is excellent.  You&#039;ll have a better chance of seeing if the coder &quot;get&#039;s it&quot; or is just bluffing.</description>
