Guelph Tech Scene
December 15th, 2009[ General ]
I’m posting this almost verbatim from an email Regg sent out today. There are increasing opportunities to participate in the Guelph tech scene so pick your spot and get involved.
These are exciting times to work and live in Guelph.
- 3 years ago business leaders formed the Guelph Business Technology peer to peer network:
- DemoCampGuelph was established in 2007 and now boasts attendance of 100+.
- Guelph Chamber of Commerce established a technology committee in fall of 09
- Guelph Tech Business Community will be hosting a large technology conference at the newly opened “FRANK HASENFRATZ CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE IN MANUFACTURING”.
We are now becoming a centre of technology innovation and would appreciate your input on the potential development of a technology cluster. Please fill out this survey and feel free to pass the link on to others.

Cool – Just what I like to see – makes me feel more secure in my decision to move to Guelph.
Have we reached enough mass to start a Guelph IT jobs board?
My programming skills are 7 years out of date, so I don’t think I am going to be writing a flash site for it but I would be willing to help out/lead where I can.

Guelph Coffee and Code is also another Event that takes place on a weekly basis.
It’s hosted at Synn Studios “Synnema”.

Thanks Cory, to that end, this list doesn’t include everything. What else is happening in Guelph tech, please add to the comments here. I’ll repost a summary if there’s a lot missing.

As a tech “wannabe/rookie”. It’s been great attending events like democamp. I’ve been learning lots of great stuff and have met some terrific folks who are helping me convert from “analog” to “digital”. The guelph tech scene sure is great thing to be part of and I look forward to more events in the future. Keep up the good work people.
